Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for a Health & Safety Specialist to work on-site at our Aurora Project, located in Pozo Almonte, Tarapacá Region (Chile). The mission of the role will be to ensure the implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System during the construction phase, acting as the owner’s representative (SPV) before contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders. This person will be responsible for identifying and controlling risks, overseeing the proper execution of the EPC’s Occupational Risk Prevention Plan, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and promoting a strong prevention-focused culture. Additionally, the role includes coordinating audits, managing deviations, leading continuous improvement initiatives in H&S;, and ensuring the safety and integrity of everyone on-site,



in line with applicable regulations, internal guidelines, and company-defined standards and indicators.

Responsibilities

Identify deviations from the Safety Plan during the project by inspecting tasks, verifying correct procedure implementation, and following up on corrective measures in case of incidents.
Prepare all internal legal and project-related documentation during construction and operational phases as the owner (SPV).
Identify applicable health and safety legislation, standards, ordinances, and regulatory requirements and regularly assess compliance from the owner’s perspective.
Order the suspension of work if, in their judgment, conditions pose a risk to worker safety.
