Job Description
As a direct report to and working closely with the Country Manager and the Project Management Team, the Development Manager will coordinate and ensure the success of wind, solar and storage project development from origination until full permitting and project financing is successfully completed.
Specific Tasks and Deliverables
- Manage utility‑scale solar, wind and storage projects.
- Secure new opportunities and oversee negotiations (with landowners, on PPA and all asset agreements).
- Establish, monitor and update business plans, development budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate and oversee all necessary work to obtain main authorizations (grid, environmental…) for all permits requested by local regulation.
- Conduct community engagement, public meetings and public presentations.
- Maintain working knowledge of the local development process and electric regulations.
- Develop and sustain excellent relations with local institutions.
- Serve as Legal Representative of the projects’ SPVs when required.
- Contribute to the improvement process of internal development tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Professional and Education: Engineer or Master’s degree with preference for Electric, Electro‑Mechanic, Industrial or energy background.
- Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of energy development experience, preferably in renewables.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the development process and its relevant institutions (CEN, CNE, SEC, etc.) in the country; deep understanding of public and private PPA markets.
- Personal Skills: Dynamism and autonomy; proven ability to work collaboratively and manage multidisciplinary teams; proven track record in project management in a fast‑paced environment; articulate and able to assist in management, client, and public presentations; willingness and ability to travel monthly.
- Software Skills (appreciated but not essential): Experienced user of PVsyst, pvDesign, OpenWind or similar industry software; proficiency with GIS; proficiency with the Google and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
- Languages: Spanish and English – fluent; French would be a plus.
