What you'll do

- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international financial reporting standards.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, providing insights to management.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable, maintaining strong relationships with vendors and clients.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and corporate tax obligations.




- Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements as necessary.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required by management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of local accounting regulations and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or similar platforms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish and English.




- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

Nice to have

- Experience in the energy sector or a related industry is advantageous.

- Experience with financial audits and working with external auditors.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Professional certifications such as CMA or CFA are a plus.
