OverviewThis post is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist to join the Fife team based at Victoria Hospital and Queen Margaret Hospital.
Fife is a beautiful area situated on the east coast of Scotland and is close to the other major Scottish cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, it is a fantastic area to live and work.
NHS Fife is a teaching Hospital affiliated with the University of St Andrews which has an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research.ResponsibilitiesOur busy Cardiology departments are staffed by a friendly and committed team.
The role involves providing a comprehensive range of invasive and non‐invasive cardiology investigations, including the following activities:Pacemaker implantation and follow‐upCRTP and ICD follow‐upPhysiologist‐led injectable loop implantation serviceEchocardiography, including TTE & TOEPhysiologist‐led stress testing, including RACPVarious ambulatory monitoring techniquesRoutine ECG serviceThe CRM team has been recognised for its implementation of left bundle area pacing (CSP) and is now standard practice for NHS Fife.
The team is supported by two Consultant Cardiologists specialising in CRM.Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful band 6 candidate will be expected to work in all areas and therefore be appropriately qualified and experienced.
Applicants should possess a BSc in Clinical Physiology or an equivalent qualification and hold AHCS registration or equivalent.
A current qualification in Immediate Life Support (ILS) is desirable but not essential.




Further opportunities to develop skills within specialist areas such as echocardiography or cardiac rhythm management will be provided if experience is not complete in all areas.A requirement of this post is membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.Working arrangementsHours of work are 36 hours per week, with cross‐site working applicable.
