The Role

The post holder collects blood samples by venepuncture or capillary route from Locality patients within the Health Centre, GP Practices and Hospital.

In This Key Role, You Will

Adherence to NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures relevant to all areas of work and regulatory requirements. These would include the following but may not be limited:

- Health and Safety Policy in particular Infection Control and needle stick injury.
- NHS Lanarkshire policy on hospital acquired infection.
- Patient Confidentiality Policy.
- Risk Management.
- Adherence to NHSL policies and current data protection legislation.

What You'll Bring

- A certificate in venepuncture is essential.




- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required.
- Manual dexterity essential.
- Require intensive one-to-one supervised training for an initial period of three months and regular updating of skills thereafter.
