The Role:

The Communications Specialist, Chile plays a key role in advancing the company’s corporate communications strategy across Chile and the broader South America region. The position assists in aligning corporate, regional, and site communications by contributing to integration efforts, helping develop content, and maintaining consistent, high-quality communications that build trust, reputation, and brand visibility.

This position supports regional and national external and internal communications efforts, including media relations and brand stewardship, as well as executive and employee communications. Reporting to the Director, Communications in Vancouver, and working closely with site teams, functional leaders, and external partners, the role helps connect culture, values, and performance to reputation and business outcomes. This role also liaises with third party agencies to deliver design and digital assets in support of communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, corporate messaging, priorities, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Development & Regional Integration

- Assist corporate communications in Vancouver, functional leads, and site communications teams to develop unified external and internal communications campaigns around key topics (e.g., health and safety, sustainability, values, culture).
- Contribute to regional integration efforts by supporting consistent messaging and approaches across sites and functions.

Digital & Social Media

- Support LinkedIn Chile content planning, in collaboration with corporate communications and site communications teams.



Coordinate with third-party agencies, as required.
- Assist in ensuring content supports corporate priorities, brand positioning, and efforts to build stakeholder trust and strengthen the company’s reputation, while reflecting local relevance.

Media Relations

- In coordination with corporate communications and investor relations in Vancouver, help develop and implement an annual media relations plan for Chile and the broader South America region to enhance the company’s visibility and build stakeholder confidence, while strengthening its reputation locally, regionally, and globally.
- Identify, recommend, and advance proactive media opportunities, in collaboration with the external affairs manager, while managing and responding to incoming media inquiries.
- Support efforts to foster relationships with national and regional media outlets in Chile.
- Coordinate and support media training and briefing for designated spokespeople, as required.
- Support the development and maintenance of issues management and crisis communications plans, in collaboration with corporate communications, investor relations, legal, external affairs, and site teams.

Internal & Executive Communications

- In coordination with corporate communications and HR, support internal communications in the Santiago office, including executive communications and town halls.
- Assist HR in communicating information relevant to Santiago-based employees, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with corporate messaging.
- Work with functional leaders and site teams to develop and deliver internal campaigns across Chile that connect culture and values to trust, reputation, productivity,



and employee retention.
- Employee event coordination.

In Office Brand Management

- Support in office brand management for the Santiago office, helping to ensure spaces, materials, and touchpoints reflect the company’s brand, culture, and values.

What You Bring:

- University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years in corporate communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. Prior experience in the mining, energy, infrastructure, or natural resources sector in Chile is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of the Chilean media landscape and experience managing relationships with media, external agencies, and other stakeholders. Issues management and crisis communications experience is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work across corporate, regional, and site teams, balancing strategic direction with local needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish; advanced proficiency in English preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
