JOB SUMMARY

The work of the Mechanic classification includes the following:
troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing,
testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing
any ground equipment while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or
modification. Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing
mechanical releases on field work. May be assigned to order, receive,
inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES





* Drive vehicles weighing up to ten (10) tons (up to forty (40) tons in select
assignments) in congested areas requiring good depth perception and ability
to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow.
* Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability
to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow,
blue, black, brown, white, and orange.
* Operate a variety of tools, including power tools, in the process of
assembling, disassembling, repairing, and installing parts and components
while reaching, twisting, turning, and gripping.
* Read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals, write legibly
to complete forms/paperwork as required.
* Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
* Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Valid driver's li
