Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and talented Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team.



This role involves integrating a recently acquired background check product into the Checkr ecosystem and developing it into a solid foundation for a comprehensive identity verification solution.

The Staff Software Engineer will oversee the near‑term integration of newly acquired background check solutions into Checkr. Responsibilities include work on data vendor integrations and developing the system into a long‑term identity verification platform. The current background check solution includes multiple public APIs, public and internal portals, and numerous microservices.

What you’ll do
- Own the product development from ideation, design, implementation, to release
- Collaborate with other engineers and product manager on designing and architecting new systems
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code
