We are seeking a new consultant colleague to join our friendly team of consultant radiologists based at Victoria Hospital/Queen Margaret Hospital.
You will have the opportunity to influence the future of the service in NHS Fife.
You should be proficient in cross sectional imaging.
Sub-speciality interest and expertise in MSK imaging, image-guided interventions, and neuro, head and neck imaging is highly desirable.
Development of any other sub-specialist interests will also be encouraged as part of our commitment to innovation and excellence.
There is a strong emphasis on providing a sustainable work/life balance and we are keen to consider versátil working options.
The post includes a commitment to a 1 in 10 out of hours rota.
Overnight CT scans are outsourced to a 'night-hawk' service.
NHS Fife has a rolling plan for equipment replacement.
Present imaging facilities include: two 1.5T MRI scanners, three CT scanners (128 slice), three fluoroscopy suites, six (non-obstetric) ultrasound scanners, one state-of-the-art intervention room and separate suites for breast and nuclear medicine.
The breast imaging suite comprises a recently updated mammogram unit with stereo biopsy capability, large volume biopsy equipment and two breast ultrasound rooms.
Postgraduate and undergraduate teaching is strongly encouraged, with established links with St Andrews, Edinburgh and Dundee Universities.
We have a strong commitment to radiology trainees from the Southeast Scotland training programme.




NHS Fife has a proactive Research and Development team who are committed to supporting research with established links with St Andrews and Dundee Universities.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a licence to practice and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR – Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training and have the knowledge, skills and experience required for practising as an eligible specialist in the UK.
To work in the United Kingdom, a relevant permission to work in the country is required.
This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service and can be evidenced through specific visa types as well as EU settled and pre-settled status.
