**Job Title**: Recruiting and People Assistant (English Speaking - Contractor)

**Location**: Remote (Chile-based)

**Working Language**:This role will primarily be English speaking; excellent verbal and written English skills are required.

**Position Overview**:We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer **(remote)** to work with our tech client. Mandatory skills for this role include: Cobol, CICS, zOS connect, JCL, VSAM, MQ.

**What you’ll do**:

- Design, develop, and maintain Cobol, CICS, zOS connect, JCL, VSAM, MQ
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented COBOL code.
- Develop and enhance batch COBOL programs, including COBOL stored procedures.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of legacy systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Support integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Work closely with other developers, system administrators, and project managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science,



Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience working with Cobol
- Proven experience as a COBOL Developer or similar role.
- Experience with Mainframe Cobol ,CICS, zOS connect, JCL, VSAM, MQ
- Strong knowledge of COBOL programming language.
- Proficiency in using COBOL development tools
- Experience with CICS, zOS connect, JCL, VSAM, MQ skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
